Every week, we’re showcasing our graduating students as they prepare to say goodbye to Dean. On each #TransformationTuesday or #FavoriteMemoryFriday, you’ll get a before and after look at where they started vs. where they are now. Next up is Janis Walker '24, a Dance major and Psychology minor.

Q: How has your experience at Dean shaped you?

My experience at Dean has shaped me into both the artist and teacher that I am now. I have had so many professors and peers who have inspired me and taught me what I need to know to be a dancer and dance teacher in the world.

Q: What is your favorite memory from your time at Dean?

My favorite memory from my time at Dean was getting the opportunity to study for two weeks in Buenos Aires. I learned so much there and was able to experience so many things and meet amazing people!

Q: How has Dean prepared you for the future?

Dean has prepared me for the future by giving me different opportunities to study in different places as well as providing amazing professors who helped to shape my technique and skills to be able to be successful in my future career.

Check back throughout the semester as we profile members of the Class of 2024 and see how far they’ve come throughout their time at Dean!
