The Green Family Library Learning Commons has been reimagined to increase and enhance student access to a range of academic and support services. Within the Green Family Library Learning Commons, the Morton Family Learning Center has been renovated to complement the Center’s outstanding staff and programs, including the addition of the Theodore and Cynthia Berenson Center for Writing, Mathematics and Presentation Excellence.

Located on the ground floor of the Green Family Library Learning Commons, the Berenson Center provides space for individual and group work, as well as access to peer and professional support with subject tutoring, papers, projects and presentations for help developing skills in effective communication, critical thinking, quantitative reasoning and teamwork.

“Students are able to build presentation, writing, mathematics and collaboration skills while moving through spaces specifically designed for one-on-one tutoring, presentation practice, group work and individual study,” explained Laura Valle, Director of the Theodore and Cynthia Berenson Center for Writing, Mathematics and Presentation Excellence. “Library staff are also available to assist students with research projects and technology integration.”

Through the Berenson Center, students can work with peer tutors and study partners, or reserve group study rooms for presentations, assignments and meetings. Students can meet with peer tutors, professional tutors and faculty members for writing and math support, or schedule time in the private presentation center to practice speeches and presentations. The Berenson Center also provides a variety of quiet spaces that allow students to get work done and that can serve as a meeting place classes, teams, clubs and organizations.

“Our goal is to provide an exciting, inclusive and welcoming environment that allows students to feel comfortable and supported while working towards the attainment of the all College learning goals,” said Valle. “We welcome and look forward to seeing students, faculty and staff this semester in the Center.”

With an emphasis on student support and improving access to dedicated workspaces and services, the renovations to the Green Family Library Learning Commons, Morton Family Learning Center and Berenson Center will positively impact every ¶¶ÒõÆƽâ°æ student, faculty and staff member.
